प्रश्न 19 : बोस आइंस्टीन कन्डनसेट (संघनन) कैसे प्राप्त की जा सकती है ?
उत्तर : बोसॉन गैस को परम शून्य ताप के बहुत निकट तापमान तक ठण्डा किया जाता है जिससे संघनित होकर पदार्थ की एक नयी अवस्था प्राप्त होती है जिसे बोस आइंस्टीन कन्डनसेट कहते है इस प्रकार बोसॉन को परम शून्य ताप के आस पास के ताप तक ठंडा करके बोस आइंस्टीन कन्डनसेट प्राप्त किया जाता है।
याद रखिये परम शून्य ताप का मान 0 K या −273.15 °C होता है।
भारतीय वैज्ञानिक सत्येन्द्र नाथ बोस ने सबसे पहले पदार्थ की इस अवस्था के बारे में बताया था उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि पदार्थ की इस नयी अवस्था में अर्थात बोस आइंस्टीन कन्डनसेट में अधिकतर बोसॉन निम्नतम क्वांटम अवस्था में उपस्थित रहते है।
इसे अंग्रेजी में Bose–Einstein condensate कहते है जिसे शोर्ट में BEC कहते है , अत: BEC पदार्थ की अवस्था किसी एक गैस को बहुत कम घनत्व पर ठंडा करने से प्राप्त होती है या बनती है , अर्थात BEC को लगभग सामान्य गैस के लगभग एक लाख वें भाग जितने घनत्व वाली गैस को परम शून्य ताप के निकट तक ठंडा किया जाता है जिससे सत्येन्द्र नाथ बोस द्वारा बताई गयी या अवस्था प्राप्त होती है।
इस अवस्था के बारे में सत्येन्द्र नाथ बोस और आइन्स्टीन ने मिलकर बताया था या इन दोनों वैज्ञानिको ने पदार्थ की इस अवस्था के बारे में जाना था इसलिए इनके नाम पर इसे बोस आइंस्टीन कन्डनसेट कहा जाता है, इसके बारे में सत्येन्द्र नाथ बोस और आइन्स्टीन ने 1924-1925 में बताया या जाना था।
