Which of the following is an example of non biodegradable detergent ?

Question : Which of the following is an example of non biodegradable detergent ?

answer : from all above options the correct answer is “(3)”

Explanation of answer : It is an alkyl benzene sulphonate detergent and is non-biodegradable as it contains branched chains. if some chemical component contains straight hydrocarbon chain than it called biodegradable detergent but if any chemical compound behave opposite to it , i mean if any component consists  branched hydrocarbon chain are called non biodegradable detergent. biodegradable detergent can be degraded easily by micro-organisms but the non biodegradable detergent does not degraded easily by micro-organisms , this is also difference between both.

As we can see in our all options that the 3rd option is only option which contains branches that is why we have given it as our correct answer.
