(1) Magnesium hydroxide
(2) Sodium carbonate
(3) Sodium bicarbonate
(4) Aluminium phosphate
Answer : from all above options the correct answer is “(2) Sodium carbonate ” it means Sodium carbonate is not used as an antacid , in other words we can say that Magnesium hydroxide , Sodium bicarbonate and Aluminium phosphate can be used as an antacid that is why we have given “(2) Sodium carbonate ” option correct as per question requirements.
Explanation of answer : first of all the question occurs that what is antacid ? , you must keep in mind that antacid are those drugs or medicines or substances which are used to neutralize stomach acidity and also antacid can be used for relieve in upset stomach. some examples of antacid are Magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2) , Sodium bicarbonate (Na2CO3) and Aluminium phosphate (NaHCO3) but the Sodium carbonate (Na₂CO₃) is not come under in this category. that is why we have given this answer correct. it means Sodium carbonate is not used as an antacid from following options given above.
